Our chef patron, Fred Berkmiller, runs bar à vin, L’escargot bleu and l’escargot blanc (upstairs from the wine bar) with his wife Betty.

As part of a family-run business, the welcome offered at the wine bar is always genuine and relaxed. We want you to enjoy the pleasure of a little time away from it all.

Fred is passionate about bringing the very best produce possible to the table at bar à vin. As Chef of the Year 2019, he’s committed to promoting the very best Scottish produce and travels the length and breadth of the country sourcing superb ingredients. Like our famous Barra snails!

We also serve exceptional Mons cheese and artisan produce from France, ensuring the culinary delights on offer at the wine bar are second-to-none.
