We’re delighted to be joined by Liz and Guy Crawford of Domaine de la Senche for a special tasting event.
Originally from the Isle Barra they turned their dream of running a vineyard in the south of France into reality, and now make some truly great wines.
Join us at the Wine Bar on Thursday 18th April from 6-8pm (free entry) when Liz and Guy will share the story of their journey as we taste four of their wines:
Minervois Rose Loti 2008
Hibou IGP 2017
We’ll also be serving delicious snails from Barra!
"What do you do when you retire from a 45 year career in the international luxury hotel industry?”
Answer: “Go into partnership with your wife in a small vineyard in the Languedoc Region of France."
Guy had always dreamt of owning a vineyard somewhere in the middle of nowhere, but Liz wanted to be part of a small community.
With the help of friends living in France, she began the search in 2004 and it was four years before they found exactly what they wanted in the rural community of La Liviniere in south west France.
The house took another four years of painstaking renovation and they finally took occupancy in 2012.
The property had a small vineyard, an olive grove and a cluster of fig trees and they added another three acres to set up as a new vineyard with Grenache and Syrah grapes which the Crawfords tend to their themselves with occasional help from friends.
