Food

Products with authentic provenance and integrity.

Our food menu is driven by a desire to serve top quality products which have been grown, reared or harvested by people who share our passion. Whether it be pastrami from Highland Wagyu in Perthshire or lamb and cumin saucisson from Peelham Farm in the Borders, we have often been closely involved in the making of the product. Good animal husbandry makes good beef, pork and poultry and we only work with farmers who have the highest welfare standards.

Along with charcuterie from Scotland, France and Spain, we serve cheese supplied by Hervé Mons, the famous French firm of affineurs. Mons are experts at developing the optimum flavours, aromas and textures for each cheese. Our cheeses change every week to ensure that we can offer you the finest cheese at their seasonal peak. From Pyrenean sausage to Banon goat cheese, the products we serve have a sense of heritage and are rooted in the area from which they come.

Cheese

There will always be new cheeses to discover.

Our goal is simple, to bring the products of these unique artisans to the people; to help our customers discover, understand and protect this food heritage.

In recent years we have seen an increase in cheese popularity because people come in search of authenticity.

That's why with the help of supplier Hervé Mons, the famous French firm of affineurs and Slow Food we are on a mission to serve as the interaction between consumers and cheesemakers to promote building a real connection, emphasising on the many qualities found in artisan cheeses and continue the cheese industry to thrive.

Cheese is a miracle: a gift from nature that was born after accidental fermentation that men tried to understand and master, gradually acquiring skills - the ‘savoir-faire'.

At Bar à Vin we want to promote cheese with different audiences, cultures and contexts from all around the world, united by a focus on direct experience - starting with a taste and that leads us to the world of shepherds, cheesemakers and affineurs.

At every corner, you can learn something, taste something, debate, compare, listen to music, try artisan beers or wines to accompany cheeses, and meet people from around the world.
